Construction & Measurement Calculators

Start with measurements, convert units, and estimate materials for a home or outdoor project.

Area & volume

Area is measured in square units; volume adds a depth and uses cubic units. Use Area for individual shapes, Square Footage for multiple rooms, and Volume for geometric solids.

Yards & landscaping

For a bed or path, measure length and width separately from depth. Cubic Yard gives the geometric volume. Gravel estimates weight using a density; Mulch converts volume to whole bags. Pool estimates water volume from inside dimensions and water depth.

Concrete, asphalt & masonry planning

Slabs, pads, footings, and walls share a rectangular-volume calculation. Round columns use a cylinder. Concrete Calculator adds quantity, waste, bag-yield estimates, and an optional unit price. Verify product specifications and structural requirements before ordering. Masonry counts brick or block units from wall area, actual face dimensions and mortar joints. Asphalt estimates compacted mixture weight from thickness and supplier density.

Interior finishing & insulation

Turn measured areas into a shopping estimate. Paint accounts for coats and coverage; Flooring rounds an area with waste to whole boxes. Start with net measurements so you do not count waste twice. Drywall estimates whole panels; Insulation uses the labeled package coverage for the selected product.

Materials: lumber

Board feet measure lumber volume. Use your supplier’s billable dimensions and price rather than treating board feet as linear feet or floor area. Framing produces a simple straight-wall stud and plate list, with its assumptions shown.

Structure & exterior layout

Explore stair rise and run, convert roof slope measurements, or estimate a straight fence run. These tools explain geometry and material counts; they do not approve a structural design. Roof Pitch converts slope measurements; Roof uses pitch to estimate roof surface and shingle quantities. Siding estimates packages for an exterior wall and optional gable.
