How to use
Add a shift row with a day number from 1 to 7, clock-in time, clock-out time, and unpaid break minutes. Use multiple rows for split shifts. Enter a weekly overtime threshold, or zero to turn the estimate off.

Formula & how it works
Net shift hours = (clock out − clock in − unpaid break)/60, when measured in minutes. Weekly total = sum of net shifts. Overtime estimate = max(0, weekly hours − selected threshold).
Worked examples
Example 1
09:00 to 17:00 with a 30-minute break = 7 hours 30 minutes = 7.5 hours. Two such shifts total 15 hours.
Example 2
22:00 to 06:00 rolls over midnight: 8 elapsed hours. After a 45-minute break, net work is 7.25 hours.
Assumptions & practical notes
Rows are treated as shifts in one week. Overnight work is assigned to its starting day. Overlapping shifts are added, so avoid duplicate records.
This is a time-planning tool. Overtime exemptions, daily thresholds, rounding rules, DST, and jurisdiction-specific payroll policies are not determined here.

Frequently asked questions
Is 7:30 the same as 7.30 decimal hours?
No. 7 hours 30 minutes is 7.5 decimal hours.
Can I use it as a timesheet?
Yes, enter multiple shifts with day numbers. It calculates totals locally but does not store employee records.
